Disc filters are a more sophisticated type of filter element than screen filters. They consist of a stack of ridged discs that water must pass through, which filters the water. Note that if you are replacing a screen element with a disc element, you will need to change the orientation of the filter housing. Check the arrows molded onto the filter housing for water flow requirements based on element type.
