With eight weeks of COVID-19 in the rear-view mirror (and more months in front of us) we figured it's high time for an update on our operations here at CIS.
First up, all of the staff is healthy and working hard as ever. All office staff that can work from home is doing so, which means it's a little more difficult to answer every call as it comes in. If we don't pick up, feel free to leave a message or call back later. You can also send us an email through the "Request a Quote" button on the homepage, even if it's just a question or comment.
The warehouse staff is working at full capacity as we have opted (with their input) to not hire any seasonal workers this year in order to reduce exposure to the full-time crew. Some very large orders may see a small delay in processing time, but small orders are almost all going out either same day or next day.
Secondly, a small number of items we sell have been affected by supply chain issues. These are mostly parts that are manufactured or assembled overseas. Any items that will take a month or more to restock will be removed from the website, while items that will restock fairly quickly will just show "Out of Stock" until we receive more of them.
To address these shortages, we have moved to a different supplier for some items. The items we are doing this for are not performance-based items like drippers, sprayers, or manifold heads, but rather things like fittings and accessories. All items that we source from a different supplier will be of the same or better quality than the original item. The only potential issue is that items from different suppliers may look different than the pictures we have up on the website. We're working on uploading updated pictures when needed, but the reduced office staff is delaying this process.
